Two of our performing arts-organizations have boosted their online presence: The Garden Theatre in Winter Garden has revamped its website, and Valencia College has created a new arts website, complete with online ticketing.
For the Garden Theatre, the new website gardentheatre.org offers:
- Easier navigation
- Increased resources
- Easier ticketing purchasing
- Better text readability
- Photo galleries
- Archives
I especially like the tabs toward the bottom of the page that let users choose a topic of entertainment. You can click on topics such as “plays,” “concerts” or “movies” to find the sort of diversion that strikes your fancy.
Garden officials say they have also made the site easier on those of us with tired eyes by increasing the contrast between text and background. And the ticket-buying process has been simplified, requiring fewer clicks.
Crabtree Ink of Winter Garden completed the redesign on the site, at gardentheatre.org.
At Valencia, the new site makes it more convenient for patrons to buy tickets by offering online sales — even of season-ticket packages. Previously, tickets had to be purchased by phone or in person at the box office, though the college did sell some events through the Red Chair Project.
The Valencia site also separates events by genre — theater, dance, etc. — and best of all, even includes information for non-ticketed events such as art-gallery offerings. (Click on the “Visual arts” tab to see current and upcoming exhibitions.)
The address for the Valencia site is http://valenciacollege.edu/arts
Congratulations to both organizations on the spiffy new designs — everyone wins when it’s easier to get information and tickets about arts events.
